Im sure you all saw last night that Boris Johnson has ordered all non essential shops and offices to close to ensure that we all self isolate and slow the spread of disease.

In light of this we will also be closing the office from today. I bought more laptops yesterday so all the staff will be able to work remotely and all our mobiles are linked to the office telephone system.

In the short term, until the end of the tax year myself and my son Joe will be coming in to open the post and scan it on to the system so that everyone can access what has come in. This is in case any cheques or applications come in that are for investment this side of the tax year.

Most company’s prefer to receive money by direct credit rather than cheques as the post is under strain and with many workers at home there may not be enough staff to open the post in time. We will therefore be recommending any new investments to be done in this way and we will let you know how to do this.

The markets have reacted well to Boris’ statement with the FTSE 100 up 3.8% already (9.22 am) today. The gilt market bounced back over 3% yesterday also which is more positive news. With the lockdown I am not sure if the market will stay open or not so we will just have to wait and see what happens.

In terms of contacting the office use the main number and the phone will be answered (01564 795997) and you will be able to be connected to the person you need. Everyone is hooked up via email so we can all be connected.

I hope you all remain safe and healthy and if you need anything please don’t hesitate to contact us.
