At one of our Trustee meetings earlier this year we discussed helping a food bank in Henley in Arden and when we couldn’t find a local one we contacted The Arden Food Bank based in Alcester to see how we could help through our Charitable Foundation.
Susan Kinnersley was delighted that we wanted to help and sent us through some information about the Food Bank;
“The Arden Food Bank is a lifeline for the community and those who struggle to put food on the table. We provide 3 days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.”
Susan kindly costed out a pack of food for three days for an average sized family and concluded that the cost is £39.84. Using this as a guide, we were more than happy to donate £796.80 to go towards covering the costs of providing the food packs.
Helping organisations such as this is what our Charity is all about so feel free to contact us if you know of others in the community who would benefit from the MPA Charitable Foundation.
