Exciting new plans have been given the go ahead by Stratford District Council for the building of The Arden Recreational Centre (The ARC), a brand new, state-of-the art multi-purpose sport and community centre in Henley.
The ARC, set to open in Spring 2020, will be built on the existing scout hut and sports facilities situated on Stratford Road, Henley, less than a mile from the town centre. The old scout, currently used by 1st Henley and Wootton Scout Group will to be replaced by a new facility incorporating a new scout hut, café, upgraded changing rooms and showers, a viewing deck, a food preparation and serving area, landscaping and a resurfaced car park! This will accommodate Henley cricket, football and tennis clubs along with the bowls and air rifle clubs too.
How has The MPA Charitable Foundation helped?…
The cost of developing such a fantastic facility stretches to £250,000 and work has already been undertaken in order to raise these funds. The MPA Charitable Foundation are delighted to be able to make a donation towards the cost of funding this exciting development, as we are committed to supporting local causes carrying out great work to strengthen and develop our local community.
