Sian Kelly is a 22 year old student from Solihull who has been playing cricket for Warwickshire County since the age of 9, and whom has been coaching cricket within the local area from the age of 16.
She has a true passion for cricket, practically coaching, and following a visit to Buenos Aires, as part of her Spanish degree at Oxford University, she found that there were few opportunities in the country for cricket, despite their natural ability – something which impressed Sian.
Her initial time in Buenos Aires involved promoting and developing women’s cricket in Argentina and Chile and with the success of this trip under her belt, along with a first-class degree from Oxford, Sian has been asked to return to Buenos Aires as a head coach of Argentina’s national women’s team who will be competing in the 2018 South American Championships.
This is a great opportunity for Sian, not only for promoting her great passion, cricket, but also in developing her coaching ability, which she puts to great use in the local cricket clubs.
With Sian’s achievement attracting national coverage, please read her full interview here;

So how has the MPA Charitable Foundation assisted?……With Sian being required to be in Argentina immediately and the flights being self-funded, Sian applied for our assistance with travel expenses to allow her to fulfil this great opportunity, something that the MPA Charitable Foundation was happy to assist with.
We wish you Buena Suerte in Argentina and look forward to hearing about your team’s success!!
