We are pleased to announce the launch of our new Events and Charities Committee. Our aim is to have a dedicated committee within our business comprising enthusiastic people who will spearhead initiatives to support local charities. It will also take the lead on organising our staff social and team building events.

MPA Managing Director Phil McGovern comments: “I am proud of our track record in supporting local good causes and establishing this committee is a way of ensuring that continues. The committee will identify opportunities for MPA to give back to our local community, not only in terms of monetary donations, but also by giving our time and volunteering with local charities. It will also take the lead on fundraising ideas…and I am looking forward to seeing what they come up with!”

The committee has already been busy and has identified several people and campaigns that MPA will be supporting. So far, we have pledged:

  • £250 to the Cody Fisher Memorial Charity Football Match.
  • £250 to support Leo Ward, a talented cricketer for Earlswood CC. Leo is aiming to raise £1,200 to fund his trip to represent England under 17s at the Indoor Cricket World Cup.
  • £250 to the Hub in Henley. The Hub is organising a trip to Weston Super Mare for local families that it supports.
  • Ongoing support for Niall Tracey, a speedskater from Henley in Arden who is aiming to compete in the Winter Olympics.
  • £150 for Hayden Froggatt who is doing the 500km bike ride from London to Paris to fundraise for blood cancer charity Cure Leukaemia.

In addition to supporting local good causes, the committee will also organise staff nights out and team building events, such as the recent staff night out – which saw the team test their darts abilities (or lack of) at The Rectory 180 Club in Birmingham.

We look forward to keeping you updated on the work of the committee over the coming months.
