Following the completion of the PlayMakers award, the Trustees of the MPA Charitable Foundation were invited to attend Henley-in-Arden COE Primary School to present the awards to the children who took part – What a fantastic morning!.
There were 16 children from Year 5, all wearing their “PlayMaker” T-shirts with the MPA Charitable Foundation logo on the arm, standing proud with their certificates. After collecting their certificates they personally came to shake our hands and thanked us individually for the kind donation. It was great hearing first hand the fun that the children had and how much they had learnt- with many already putting into practice their new skills by helping to teach sport to the younger children of the school.
We returned to the office in great spirits to receive the following message from the school which is also to be printed in Henley Matters;
“A big thank you to the Henley company, MPA Financial services for sponsoring our project. Phil McGovern, Grace Brennan and Annemarie Byrne came into Henley-in-Arden C of E Primary School today to give Certificates to our new Play Makers.
The company paid for a team of Year 5 children, in order that they could take the Play Makers training. Parent and local tennis coach, Neil Supperstone, led the 6 hour training needed, as well as initiating the whole project so a big thank you to him.
From now on, our Play Makers will be running additional activities at playtimes to help keep all our children fit and active. In a bid to combat the national problem of childhood obesity, the government want to see children moving and running around for an extra half an hour a day at school and half an hour a day at home.”
