MPA has donated £1,000 to its chosen charity to support its Community Christmas Lunch appeal.
Organised by Henley Churches and The Hub at Henley, plus a team of fantastic volunteers, the Community Christmas lunch provides a freshly cooked Christmas lunch with all the trimmings, as well as a Christmas gift for local residents. With the choice of either a sit-down meal in the Church Hall or of a festive meal delivered directly to their door, residents join together for a true community event and celebrate the festive season.
Last year was a huge success with 78 guests attending. This year they hope to bring Christmas cheer to even more residents who find themselves on their own. The sit-down lunch also includes games and entertainment, and this year is being held again in St. Nicholas Church Hall, Beaudesert Lane, Henley.
To make it all possible a team of brilliant volunteers pick guests up to get them to and from the venue, cook all the food, wait on tables, decorate the hall and make the gift boxes.
Anyone wanting to take part this year can contact the committee via the website https://visit-henley.co.uk/events/christmas-day-lunch/. Booking is essential.
